WOW!!! I just found out about DR. O'S passing. What a amazing man! I truly believe my daughter is here today becuz of him. I remember all the nights in the hospital when steve would come late, take off his berkinstocks, and sit on the bed with amber. He always had a way of making us feel like we were his only patients. Wish I had known so I could have been a support to his amazing wife...

I just found out a few days ago and I am still in shock. He was the best doctor I had ever visited. Always attentive with my children's health. Actively in contact with my Son's Cardiologist. I was very upset when my insurance group did not have him available and hoped to go back soon. You will be missed. May you rest in peace. And thank you, thank you for all your great work.

Wow. I was so saddened to hear about Dr. O's passing and even more so after reading all these stories about. He truly did touch many of us and I pray he is rejoicing in the lord now as he deserves everything heaven is. On behalf of my mother and all my siblings who were also his patients. We love and miss you so!

I am stunned. As of this writing...Feb. 12, 2012...I find that my long-time friend has left us. Steve was my good friend in our youthful days in Iowa City. He and I were in Boy Scouts together...used to go survival camping, and were great friends. We lost touch when he went to medical school, and I wound up in broadcasting for 43 years, in the military, with AFRTS, and then with WSUI & KSUI-FM, in Iowa City. I just thought of checking on him through the internet, and now I find he has died. What a shock. Knowing him, and his entire amily, as I did, I'm sure he has left a fine legacy behind him. He was a really fine person, and I am very sad to know he is gone. Steve Slezak (Solon, Iowa)

I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Osburns passing. In 1972 he took care of my baby Noelle at what is now UCIrvine but, previously OC Medical Center. Noelle had brain surgery & suffered seizures. After she was released he continued to stay in touch until he opened his office. Dr. Osubrn even made house calls when I could not get to OC Med. Ctr. He was an amazing doctor and really cared about his patients. Today, 2/9 is the anniversary of my daughters surgery 39 years ago. I was hoping to contact him to let him know how she was doing. Finding this page and seeing his smiling face reminds me of his kind, gentle way of taking care of my baby 39 years ago. You are in my prayers and I am grateful for the wonderful doctor you were to my baby. Susan & Noelle Gortner

What a terrible shock to learn of Dr.Stephen Osburn's passing. He took care of my children, grandchildren, adopted and foster children since 1978. he spent many hours when my little girl had 17 brain surgeries, always offering reassurance in his soft spoken manner. I left So. Ca. in 2002 and my only worry was that we would miss Steve and his wisdom with all of my developmentally challenged babies and children. He always answered every question and explained everything so you understood. Many times as he spoke to you he would dress your baby....so caring. My condolences and love to Kathe and the family from our family, for their patience in times of Steve's absence because of other children in need.
The world is a better place because of Steve osburn. R.I.P.

Dr. Osburn was the kindest, most calming and knowledgeable pediatrician I ever met. I have a daughter with a chronic illness and met many dr's during our stay at CHOC. He was, by far, the most caring and attentive. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

When you think of a wonderful human being and Dr., Dr. Osburn is who comes to mind. He was so amazing with all of his patients and their families. I worked with him as an RN and was also so fortunate and lucky to have him as my children's pediatrician. He was the perfect example of what a human being should be like on this earth. Calm in nature, kind beyond words and smart yet very humble. He was so amazing with the residents and medical students also. We love you and can never thank you enough for all the lives you touched while you were on this earth. May you continue to be a guardian angel..
